The City of Denver achieves more debt this week.

Would you ever say this? Is debt an achievement?

Yes – for the Wall-street banks. If you’re the City of Denver, debt is a liability. Denver is being owned by the Wall-street banks because our government officials lack the courage to deal with this problem.

On Monday, April 1st, 2024, the City of Denver approved another $268 million dollars of general debt to add to the enormous debt racked up by the Michael Hancock administration.

For some odd reason, the City of Denver spends time and money to brand debt in a positive light with positive names like, “Elevate Denver,” and “Rise Denver.” Why the hell would a person brand debt in a positive manner, debt is a liability, not an achievement.

If you were to brand debt (but please, don’t), it should have a name like, the “Oops, We Messed Up” bond package, or the “Gee We Need to Get it Together Over Here” bond package, or the “I’m a Greedy Politician” bond package.

If I go out and buy a new boat for the driveway and I do this on debt, is that boat an achievement, or is it a liability?

Mayor Michael Hancock’s legacy is a legacy of debt. There is no achievement when you leave the bills to be paid by the next generation.

Government debt is like leaving a restaurant without paying the bill, and Michael Hancock, you failed to pay your bill, you left the next generation of young adults holding your debt.

Apparently, Mayor Mike Johnston will be relying on political Greed like his predecessor. Apparently, Mayor Mike Johnston will leave office with the next generation of young adults holding his debt.

Denver City Council voted unanimously for more debt.

Denver City Council works to leave more debt for the next generation. Council voting for more debt is fake caring as we all end up with less money for actual service while the Wall-street bankers end up with more money and power. Basic math.

Government debt is Greedy policy – presented as democracy. City of Denver you should stop blaming the voters when you have first say and last say on all new debt. City of Denver you should stop blaming the voters when 70% of all revenue is for your paycheck.

Oh Wall-street Wall-street we have no money! Will you help us! Good luck with that Denver.

Government debt is a counter-productive waste of money.

Government debt doubles financial overhead which shrinks the budget for actual service. Most financial overhead is a waste of valuable money.

Government debt buys one-half as much actual service per tax dollar.

Government debt gives the other half of that tax dollar to Chase bank and all the other banks for debt service – the opposite of actual service.

Government debt addresses one-half as much NEED per tax dollar.

Government debt gives the other half of that tax dollar to Chase bank and all the other banks. Every dollar given to Wall-street is like throwing that dollar into a trash can.

Government debt is political Greed – presented as need.

Government debt cheats the next generation of young adults.

I really thought that Mayor Mike Johnston was going to be different. Turns out he is up to the same antics as Hancock!
